Our Story

Our Story Begins Where the City Ends.

Tambaal Agro-Tourism was born from a vision—to preserve and share the rich agricultural heritage and natural beauty of Konkan. In 2012–13, Shri Mahadev Bhikaji Gawade began transforming his ancestral land in Madyachi Wadi, not just to grow crops like cashew and mango, but to cultivate something deeper: awareness, curiosity, and respect for nature.

What started as a simple farm slowly became a learning space. In 2015–16, he created the Nakshatra Van, a unique garden based on Indian astrology, followed by a Museum of Ancient Agricultural Tools to help people understand traditional farming methods and tools used by our ancestors.

By 2025, Tambaal opened its gates to travelers, families, and nature lovers looking for peace, simplicity, and authenticity. Spread across 2 acres of greenery, Tambaal isn’t a resort or a retreat—it’s a place to reconnect with the roots of life, learn about medicinal plants, taste Malvani cuisine, and experience rural living in its purest form.

We welcome you to Tambaal—not just as a guest, but as a friend of the land.

About the Founder

Shri Mahadev Bhikaji Gawade – A Farmer, Visionary & Nature-Lover

Shri Mahadev Bhikaji Gawade began his journey in 2012–13 with a simple yet powerful idea: that farming is not just about growing crops, but about growing knowledge, awareness, and harmony with nature.

Instead of only cultivating cashews and mangoes, he envisioned a farm filled with medicinal plants that could educate and inspire people. His love for nature and tradition led him to create the Nakshatra Van and a museum of old farming tools, preserving stories of rural life for future generations.

Tambaal Agro-Tourism is a reflection of his dedication to sustainable living, local culture, and meaningful tourism. Under his guidance, Tambaal continues to grow—not just as a place, but as a purpose.
